140 km to go: David Kemp is in contact: “Miguel Indurain (Spain) also won three consecutive tours and is currently the only person who won five tours in a row (1991-95).”
The article below, from 2001, has already said. Froome was the only rider for three in the next because if we avoided a certain American podcaster, who would probably still think he was seven o’clock. But any memories of Big Mig are fun. His is a golden season.
145 km to go: Allecin, the Mathieu van der Poel team, is leading the peloton by Le Campagne. The bucket hat will appear in the run for those on the side of the road.
150 km to go: It seems the chasing pack is happy to keep the breakaway for two minutes, and they will choose it later.
155km to go: Different stories from Reuters on Monday:
Eleven -a bicycle belonging to Cofidis, which was stolen overnight before the second stage of Tour de France, was recovered, general team manager Cedric Vasseur said Monday following the third phase of the career.
“I have a Christian Prudhomme (tour director) on the phone on stage. He included the prefect to tell us that bikes were found in the afternoon”, Vasseur told France TV after the end of the third stage.
The team had earlier reported that five out of 11 bikes were recovered. “Some of the staff combined the area and managed to take their hands on five bikes, thrown by criminals on the undergrowth near the hotel”, the team said in a press release.
The breed will be full gas, about 50km per hour. We are in the country of Macron here, in the sense that Manu has come from here. Asgreen is captured by the breakaway and they accept him in their four fraternity.
160 km to go: Van der Poel takes a break in comfort as the peloton reduces the leader of the race and sits. Asgreen gives everything on the hill as he pursues the trio of escape.
Hur Morgan is in contact: “Just got to the amens to watch the departure. It’s always a strange experience that” watching “cycling live. We drove an hour and 10 minutes for our 10 -month -old baby who actually stopped a 150 young men on their bikes. Wout and Pogacar stopped right in front of us so we felt lucky.
We hope Mrs Morgan is right.
165 km to go: They left the Amiens, the city of Jules Verne, where Federico Fellini made clown, which crossed Somme. Peloton no longer thinks of a deep culture like Kasper Asgreen, a classic winner, that sets to join a breakaway for about two minutes in the pack. No surprise, long way to go.
They go to amiens
173 km to go: And we have two breakers in the air, Lenny Martinez and Jonas Abrahamsese, the ones taking it. The word on the radio is that the wind is high. Can we see echelons? Thomas Gachingnard enters the claim. None of these are GC contenders so the peloton is relaxed enough. There are many battles waiting on the road.
Nick Wayne to Bryan Coquard.
Coquard: “Obviously, this is not my desire to cause a crash; I don’t want to take any risks. I clearly discarded the balance. I almost lost my shoes. Although incidental, I wanted to apologize to Philipssen and Alpecin-Deuninck. Even though I’m not a bad person, it’s not pleasant.”
Alpecin Co-Manager Phillip Roodhoft: “Jasper is the victim of something he doesn’t fully involve, it’s clear. To be honest, the other two who ran away, I don’t think it’s about regret. It’s a foolish crash. Things can happen, and the consequences for us as a team, but most of all for Jasper, are so bad, but what do you say?”
And yet, the coquard is in a yellow.
Jeremy Boyce is in touch: “As you said, different profiles today. With 2 flat stages and a TT coming, but the mountains literally and metaphorically looming, maybe a day for GC teams and contenders to present themselves and put some pressure on their rivals?
James Irwin is in touch: “Likes your football work, both written and on football weekly pod. (Thank you, James, really appreciate). It was thought that I would say Bonjour from Gouray-en-Bray, about 60km at the current of touring. On the holiday with my family at a campsite about two hours away and we were big fans of cycling so decided that we had to come along. There are many environments in this village for racing. Should be a great end on stage today once it reaches Côte Jacques Anquettil. Enjoy reading your live updates as we sit here for the next few hours. Cheers, James Irwin (with his wife Tracey and son Charlotte, 13. “
Enjoy, team.
Jacques Anquettil, a native Rouen and five times won the touris remembered by a monument at the Côte Jacques Anquetl Climb, which is included in the route today.
The legend is that -Profile here on these pages in 2001:
Jacques Anquettil (France) 1961, 1962, 1963
Master Jacques came from the Norman farming stock, and it was a powerful time-trialist that the clock force made him the first person who won five tours. Famous as a person who wants to live well – champagne, cigars, oysters – he rides up to 230 times a year and does not make bones about the fact that to do this is necessary to take drugs. Died in cancer in the stomach in 1987.
Chris Froome only won three Tour de France in the next day because we didn’t count you knowing who.
Départ Fictif is in Session In the city of Amiens, the road begins to Rouen. Now they know how Joan felt the arc … the streets were full. Tour de France visited Rouen 18 times Since 1957, and this is the 14th hour for Amiens, even the first since 1977. That year, a graduation in Rouen saw Dutchman Fedor Den Herelatog who took on stage, the yellow jersey later took Bernard Thévenet, a twice winner with a mixed reputation. Rouen posted a stage of 2012, won by Sprinter Supreme Andre Greipel, the winner of the GC that year was … Bradley Wiggins … Yes, Le Tour is Le Tour.
Here’s a Monday stage report from Jeremy Whittle.
The Alpecin-Deceuninck Rider was arguing with the intermediate sprint in Isbergues when Coquard moved to the right and grabbed the shoulders to another rider, before riding the Belgian path, causing him to crash.
“I’m not a bad person,” a clearly disturbed coquard at the end. “I apologize to Alpecin, even though I didn’t mean to do anything. I almost lost my shoes and I couldn’t do anything.”
PREAMBLE
Bonjour, Tout Le Monde. Le Tour is Le Tour as we say every year. The casualties were pile high, with Jasper Philipsen joining the list yesterday and Remco evenpoel on the deck, but returned as soon as they glanced at Dunkirk. These flat stages are often in which the disease is sharp, the speed they rattle along with. Today, still in northern France, is a bit different, with a classic adjustment style, with a lot of climbing before the last third, the tough going, with repeated rude climb. One for Breakaway Clubs, and hard work for team captains, a day of rouleurs and puncheurs. And maybe Tadej Pogacar.
Every per-tour guide of William Fotheringham.
A welter of Little Hills in the finale including Rampe Saint-Hilaire, a 750m “wall” in the city center, 5km from the end; There will be great stress for all contenders trying to get into the area for this. Evocatively, one of the last hills was the Côte de bonecours, where Jean Robic presented a final heist to win the 1947 tour, but during Pogacar there was little chance of repeating.
