Adrien Brody Break Record for Longest Ever Oscar Acceptance Speech | Oscars

Adrien Brody broke the note for the longest ever speech in receiving the Oscars.

The 51-year-old, who took his second best actor Oscar on Sunday, spoke five minutes and 40 seconds, beating Greer Garson, who spoke five minutes and 30 seconds when he received Mrs. Miniver in 1943.

Brody defeated the competition from a complete Timothée Chalamet and Conclave’s Ralph Fiennes to win for his role in the low-budget drama The Brutalist, the longest photo nominee in 215 minutes.

“I feel like I’m lucky,” he said on stage after releasing his gum and throwing it at partner Georgina Chapman, Harvey Weinstein’s ex -wife. “Stopping is a very frustrating profession. It looks so appealing -and at a few moments it, but one thing I got in having the privilege of coming back here is to have some perspective. It doesn’t matter where you are in your career, no matter what you did, it all can leave.”

Brody, who had previously won for her performance at The Pianist of Roman Polanski, spoke for a long time that the casing music began to kick. “I’m wrapped up, please kill the music,” Brody said. “I’ve done this before. Thanks this is not my first rodeo, but I will be short.”

He went to talk about the important movie themes that, such as the pianist, were also talking to the Holocaust. “I am here again to represent the long traumas and the repercussions of war and systematic oppression, and antisemitism and racism and so on,” he said. “I pray for a healthy and happier and a more inclusive world, and I believe that the past can teach us anything, it is a reminder not to let anger go.”

Earlier in the evening, Halle Berry kissed Brody on the red carpet to recreate the controversial moment on stage 22 years ago when she kissed. “I have to pay him,” he said.

The brutalist won two other Oscars last night for cinematography and the original score The night was led by wins for sex worker comedy Anora who came home five awards, including the best picture.
