Sweden’s Armand Duplantis rose 6.27 meters to break the world’s vault record for a tedious 11th hour at the All Star Perche Meet in Clermont-Ferrand, France after releasing his debut song earlier on the same day.
The two-time Olympic and World Champion removed the record height in his first attempt on Friday to break his previous global score of 6.26 set in Silesia in August, sparkling track-side fireworks that light the arena.
“I just really feel,” Duplantis said. “What I can say, I came here to do this. I put everything in place to do it. The run-up was really worked. I just did it.”
Emmanouil Karalis was second with a Greek record clearance of 6.02M while six men had cleared 5.91mo higher in the first time in a single competition. Australia’s Kurtis Marschall ends the third after a 5.91M, the best season, at its trial opening.
The 25-year-old duplant-earlier in the day released his first song “Bop” under his nickname “Mondo”-Clear 5.65m height, 5.91m, 6.02M, and 6.07m. In securing success, he raised the bar to 6.27m for his attempt at the world-record.
His song played with the sound of the arena during his record jump.

“When I did this song a few months ago, I thought it was a perfect song to jump here,” Duplantis said. “That’s why I started it.”

Duplantis improved the world’s record by one centimeter to each of its 11 times, since 2020. He broke his global mark four times in the last 11 months, including when he won his second golden Olympic medal with a record jump of 6.25m in Paris.
Renaud Lavillenie of France held the world record of 6.16, set in 2014, before the Swedish star kicked his fierce invasion.
