DRY January may be behind us, but more than we choose the canal the difficult things throughout the year. Lighter on the waist and purse and no hangxiety-free, low ABV (alcohol in volume) drinks have moved to popularity in recent years. A 2024 Yougov survey found almost half of young people who regularly choose low or alcoholic beverages- and 39% of 18- to 24 years old never drink alcohol.
If you want to cement the good habits you developed during the dry January, stay dry full-time or simply designated driver tonight, many tempting low and alcoholic tipples to try. And the zebra striping (alternating alcohol and non -alcoholic beverages) does not work when the 0% category is as refreshing as we have today.
From beers to taste like the real deal with zero-alcohol fizz worth celebrating, there is a low-alcoholic beverage to tickle the fancy everything. I worked through over 60 different beers without booze, wine, spirits, Kombuchas, premixed drinks and all between to find the best category to offer.
To qualify for integration with this list, drinks must be under 2% ABV (many between 6% and 10% are also worth searching if they aim to reduce, not replace). As well as tasting delicious, they also need to be a convincing alternative to an alcoholic counterpart. I acknowledge that many people looking for lo-alcohol drinks don’t want something that looks like, felt or likes like booing, but for the purposes of this test, I did. That said, many of the amazing healthy sparkling water and drinks that I have tried are more favorable to some of the alcoholic alcohol.
Here, therefore, my choice of the best low and no-alcoholic beverages to raise a glass to, safe with the knowledge that there is no hangover in the post.
The best non alcohol and low-alcoholic beverages for 2025
Best low alcohol red wine
Moderato merlot-tannat cuvée révolutionnaire 0.5%
£ 13.99 to the Majestic
Of all the alternatives low alcohol, a decent red wine is probably the hardest to find. Some flavors such as plasticky grape juice, while others try to copy the complexity of an alcoholic red by introducing rogue flavors such as beetroot and herbs.
No one will mistake this moderate for a fully flee Merlot, but it has a characteristic dark grape fruit notes, and its structure is tightly putting it on the wine spectrum, rather than Juice. In general, the taste is delicious. Using grapes derived from southwest vineyards of France, this wine is coldly damaged in the first de-alcohol center of the country, where they keep the maintenance of the structure and aroma of the original That wine. A decent wine of food with rich casseroles and heat tagines, or alone.
Best low-alcohol gin
Everleaf Mountain, 0.4%
£ 22 in Everleaf
£ 22 to the majestic
Everleaf is not charged as a non-alcoholic gin, like some, but more loose as an aperitif; This particular variety is a showcase of Fruity Floral Botanical inspired by mountain flavors. For me, this is a fun alternative to sweeter, strawberry-forward pink gins, when served with quality tonic, ice and a cut. The flavors of the tag -heat are increasing, with the welcome of bitterness from the rosehip that keeps it from being a saccharine. I served it to teetotal relatives at a beverage party, praising it completely; As a true gin fan, I am very happy to drink it too.
Best sparkling tea
La brewery sparkling english blush, 0.0%
£ 11.99 in Virgin Wines
£ 13 in La Brewery
It belongs to my absolute favorites. It’s a Kombucha sparkling, but it feels and tastes really special – starting with the cork for popping. Created in a suffolk microbrewery, it explodes with English fruit; Wild strawberries and fresh rhubarb are dominant, while Kombucha’s funk adds a necessary tang to balance natural sweetness. It’s really low in sugar, and with the benefit of being full of live cultures – but it’s so nice that you don’t have to convince anyone who has health benefits. I recommend this for a festival, though all you celebrate is the fact that it is a Friday.
Best dealcoholised sparkling wine
Bolle Blanc de Blancs, <0.5%
£ 18.99 in the drinking supermarket
£ 19.99 in Vinozero
Sparkling wines are probably the safest stakes in the low and no category. From Nozeco to Vilarnau Cava, I liked almost all the low-alcoholic fizzes that I sampled and many were really great. This one rose early because of how well it tastes. It was done in Spain using Chardonnay grapes and double ferment (such as champagne and Cava) before becoming a dealcoholised, and this is a real treatment however you look at it. It had a recognizable profile of the Blanc de Blancs-lean orchard fruit and Brioche notes-along with a smoothly constant champagne-like mousse and a dryish finish. I’ll buy it again.

Best mocktail
Belvoir Farm non-alcoholic lime and yuzu mojito
£ 3.25 in Tesco
£ 3.40 in waitrose
The Belvoir Farm is better known for beautiful cordials and soft drinks, but it boasts one of the largest mocktail ranges in the UK. With Passion Fruit Martini, Peach Bellini and more to choose, my pick is the great taste award-winning lime and Yuzu Mojito, which is fresh, zesty and aromatic. Sadly tasting and super cool, this cynicism is good in itself, but when it is properly spyned with fresh mint and lots of ice, no one will miss the real thing. I like the unexpected side that Yuzu brings.

Best spirit without alcohol
The pathfinder hemp and root non -alcoholic spirit
£ 29.75 in the whiskey exchange
£ 34.99 on Amazon
Smoking, healing, herbal, bitter, citrussy, spicy: just a few of the words I will use to describe the taste of the pathfinder, and I will not come close to determining its taste. Darkly complex and intriguing, the new alcohol-based spirit-based alcohol uses hemp, Angelica Root, Juniper, Saffron and other wild botanical distilled with a liquid that works alone or in cocktails -As seen in London Cocktail Bars and Satan’s whiskers. If you are a fan of Negroni, Fernet or other Amaro, then this is likely your street. Try stirred with bitters, ice and an orange twist for an alcoholic alcohol with your favorites.
Best low-alcohol lager
Brooklyn Brewery Special Effect Hoppy Lager, 0.4%
£ 2.52 to the dry drinker
£ 53.99 for 24 bottles on Amazon
Low and no beers are pretty good quality from off, along with independent beer generally makes the cooler, more interesting and efficient tasting things than big brands. The special effects of Brooklyn Brewery Hoppy Lager are a poor all-rounder and easily handle itself against any alcoholic lager. It is lightweight, bright and filled with real, fresh hop flavors that can also pass it as a real thing.
Best low alcohol ale
Firebrand Brewing co shorebreak hazy pale ale, 0.5%
£ 2.69 to the wise bartender
£ 3 in Drink Finder
When the tag finally arrives, you will find it difficult to find a better drink to enjoy the beach than this cornish chaff. Funny smooth, lightweight and zingy with hoppy flavors, firebrand brewing shorebreaks explode with dangerous chilled fruit flavors such as pineapple, guava and bananas. You can struggle to tell if it’s alcohol or not – and when it tastes good, for only 35 calories a can, who cares?
Best low-alcohol cider
Sandford Orchards Red Zero, 0.5%
£ 27 for 12 in Sandford Orchards
Low-alcohol cider is a little trickier to get right than beer. Some are annoying sweets, others taste too straight with apples, while my previous favorite low-alcohol cider (the Maison Sassy Pair) has an ABV a touch that is too high for this list. The new red zero cider from Devon’s producer Sandford Orchards has been created in the same way as award-winning cider alcohol-local apple cider applies, ferment and matured before alcohol is removed. It is juicy and tangy, with a fruity funk ripe for a pub garden.
Best Spirit Tequila style without alcohol (yes, really)
Almave Blanco blue agave spirit, 0%
£ 21.89 to Master of Malt
£ 20.45 on Amazon
A zero-proof tequila-style spirit may not be the first thing you want to think when you don’t drink, but it’s an unexpected hit. The Almave was founded by Lewis Hamilton in collaboration with the Mexican Spirits Group Casa Lumbre, and it has an immediate aroma of agave, smell and tasting overly convincing. It is really nice even for dripping straight, but when made with a spicy margarita or mix -with grapefruit in a palom it is amazing.
