The Villa has an interest in Mathes Tel but Tottenham is thought to be a career frontrunners to sign the 19-year-old Bayern Munich forward.

Tottenham and Newcastle are pushing to sign the 18-year-old but RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also have interest on the forward, sidelined with ankle damage.

Emery said he failed to lose a player with Durán’s potential. “I am, very close to him. Trying to work with him and his development but the players have their own goals, ambitions, [and] Sometimes they are impatient and if he leaves because he prefers to make a different way in his career. We are different people, different people, with different purposes. We need to respect it. “
